What are the responsibilities and job description for the FLYERS Program Coordinator position at Leroy Springs & Company INC?
OVERVIEW
Under limited supervision, facilitate the daily operations of the designated FLYERS after school program site for elementary age students, including lunch monitoring during the school day as well as program summer camps. Manage and mentor staff to create a strong team that continually engages in activities with children and provides quality care and enrichment that enhances children’s social skills, elevates activity level and extends learning in a fun and safe environment.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Supervises staff and implements proactive decision-making; maintains high standards of safety through relationships and childcare management systems provided
- Leads team meetings and ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, laws and regulations
- Conducts assessments of program location
- Mentors and develops staff with effective goal-setting
- Develops and maintains effective communication and positive working relationships with staff, co-workers and district personnel
- Manages and facilitates proper scheduling and coverage for lunch monitoring as well as afterschool and summer camp programming
- Oversees used areas and ensures other shared school space is well maintained
- Facilitates FLYERS programming to meet the needs of the children
- Other duties as assigned

- Experience and /or education in field of child development or education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or GED required or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Some college or course work post high school preferred (some variation of this)
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of others
- Negative PPD/Tuberculosis Testing
- Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child and Youth Protection training; will train

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to remain on feet for extended periods.
