What you will be doing:
- Work on the development, integration, validation, and optimization of onboard charging solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Develop charging system requirements, charging control strategies, system integration, and verification and validation of hardware and software functions.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust, efficient, and compliant charging solutions for electrified vehicle platforms.
- Develop and manage system-level and functional requirements for onboard charging systems.
- Design, develop, and optimize charging control strategies for AC charging applications.
- Lead the integration of onboard charging systems with vehicle high-voltage architectures.
- Support hardware and software development activities for prototype and production charging solutions.
- Perform system verification and validation activities, including MiL, SiL, HiL, bench, and vehicle testing.
- Analyze charging performance, efficiency, thermal behavior, reliability, and fault management strategies.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate charging functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with software, controls, calibration, and hardware engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure compliance with automotive safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews, design evaluations, and customer discussions.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
- US citizen or Green Card required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in Onboard Charging Systems (OBC), EV Charging Systems, Power Electronics, or Electrified Powertrain Development.
- Strong understanding of onboard charger architectures and electric vehicle charging systems.
- Experience developing system and functional requirements.
- Knowledge of AC charging systems, power electronics, and high-voltage vehicle architectures.
- Experience with charging system integration and vehicle-level validation.
Preferred:
- Experience with Embedded Coder and C/C development.
- Knowledge of EV charging standards and protocols including CCS, SAEJ1772, DIN 70121, and ISO 15118.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI testing and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and embedded software development.
- Understanding of Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
- Knowledge of Automotive Cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
- Understanding of AC/DC Conversion, Power Factor Correction (PFC), and DC/DC Conversion Technologies.
- Hands-on experience with charging control strategies, diagnostics, and fault management.
- Knowledge of high-voltage systems including contactors, HV interlocks, and charging safety concepts.
- Experience with CAN, CAN FD, UDS diagnostics, and vehicle communication networks.
- Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink.
