What you will be doing:
We are seeking a skilled Pro Cable Designer with experience in brake line design to support the development of automotive vehicle systems. This role will be responsible for designing, routing, and releasing brake lines and related components, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CAD tools and a strong understanding of vehicle packaging and brake system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop brake lines, routing paths, and associated components using Pro Cable or similar design tools
- Create and release 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Ensure proper routing for durability, safety, serviceability, and compliance with OEM standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chassis, body, manufacturing, and suppliers
- Perform tolerance stack-ups, clearance checks, and packaging studies
- Support prototype builds, validation, and production launch activities
- Work closely with suppliers on component feasibility, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to improve product performance and quality
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety requirements (e.g., FMVSS for brake systems)
What you'll need to be successful:
- 3 years of experience in automotive or related brake line or fluid routing design
- 3 years of experience with designing in Pro Cable is required.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, NX, or Creo
- Strong understanding of brake systems, materials, and manufacturing processes (bending, forming, fittings)
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
