Job Title: Principal Test Engineer

Duties:
LER TechForce LLC seeks a Principal Test Engineer in Columbus, Indiana, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Duties: challenge delivery of system level controls software and validation to deliver new, innovative and flexible solutions to address automotive customers' changing business needs; create system level test process improvement and implementation plans for automation and validation based on market standards; integrate firmware and software requirements for customers' automotive engines by helping them understand requirements, reporting defects and qualifying them at each milestone; liaise with internal stakeholders to lead planning, development, execution, and documentation of project-wide test activities and processes; coach and mentor Test Engineers on advanced system architecture, test planning, and test execution methods and processes; identify tests that can be automated, and design and develop test automation scripts in existing automation framework; perform root cause analysis, error correction, and functional and risk analysis of system level problems (5 Whys, Fishbone); provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical features are considered and function properly; provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams across the organization to architect, implement, and troubleshoot complex solutions.
Requirements:
Master's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical and computer engineering, computer information science, automotive engineering, information technology management, or related field, and 4 years of experience (gained at any time) in any engineering or technical role which included at least one of the skills listed below. Included within the 4 years of experience, must have experience in all of the following: electronic control systems and software architecture for automotive applications/programs; MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW or TestStand; automation of testing scripts; validation and verification testing and system performance evaluation; CAN and J1939 analysis; version control requirements management software (Jira, PTC Integrity, SolidWorks, SmartSheet, or PLM) performing test setup and configuring hardware setup/connections using HIL test bench to conduct validation and verification testing; validation and verification testing, system performance evaluation, and troubleshooting communication protocols; engine control calibration tools (Calterm, ATI Vision, or INCA).
In lieu of master's degree and 4 years of experience, will accept a bachelor's degree (of foreign equivalent degree) in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical and computer engineering, computer information science, automotive engineering, information technology management, or related field, plus 6 years of post-bachelor's, progressive experience in engineering or technical roles which must have included the skill listed above.
