What you will be doing:
HIL Bench Configuration & Hardware Ownership
- Configure and prepare HIL benches for distinct applications and programs.
- Perform harness and CAN panel setup for bench readiness.
- Act as the primary point of contact for hardware-related questions and issues.
- Coordinate bench upgrades and hardware transportation, including logistics and scheduling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bench issues to maintain &Client;G0% bench availability.
- Proactively communicate bench status, downtime, and planned power outages to users.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
- CAN connections and settings
- Controller calibration and configuration
- Wiring harnesses and connectors
- Power supplies and interface boards
- Work closely with electronic lab technicians to resolve hardware-related issues efficiently.
- Track and report bench uptime, including:
- Weekly bench status updates
- News or notifications impacting bench availability
- Track and manage inventory of:
- ECMs
- Harnesses
- Actuators
- Connectors and related bench components
- Maintain and improve lab space organization and cleanliness; execute routine lab upkeep tasks.
- Label bench assets clearly and consistently.
- Maintain Asset ID tracking for all bench components.
- Track licenses for tools such as:
- Calterm
- DDS
- InPower
- Other bench-related software
- Notify license owners in advance of upcoming expirations (license ownership remains external).
- Ensure bench host PCs have current and valid licenses installed.
- Document and maintain records for:
- Software versions
- License information
- Model versions
- Controller details
- Execute running models and TestStand sequences on HIL benches.
- Collect and organize system simulation test data.
- Manage and maintain network folders for test results.
- Enable a streamlined workflow where analysts only need to provide test plans.
- Performance tuning of OBD monitors on engine applications
- MATLAB analysis
- MATLAB creation of plots for data analysis
- Calibration of engine or aftertreatment features/monitors
- Engine or aftertreatment performance

- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with electronic systems, including use of multimeter, lab power supplies, wiring harnesses and interface boards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software tools.
- Familiarity with engine or controller testing environments and lab operations.
- Ability to manage multiple benches and priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for status updates, issue reporting, and coordination.
- MS Office software skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with engine controls software and simulation workflows. (ACCEPTS, CyberApps)
- Experience working with NI TestStand sequences and structured test execution.
- Prior exposure to calibration tools and controller integration.
- Programming tools such as Python, Matlab, NI Labview/TestStand
