What you will be doing:
Our Client is looking for an energetic and organized Design Release Engineer, Electrical Accessories to lead the development of electrical accessory point integration. This position will work with the electrical hardware, systems, and software teams along with the accessory group to develop robust and cost-effective accessory connection points.
This Engineer will report to the Manager of Electrical Modules and Accessories. Responsibilities will be broad in scope and complex, requiring creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills.

- Define requirements for electrical accessories, including wiring harnesses, control modules, lighting, and other components.
- Develop designs using CAD software while ensuring compatibility with vehicle systems.
- Work with various engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure seamless integration of accessories.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, and other stakeholders to support production and resolve issues.
- Utilize LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited (or equivalent) program. Master's degree is preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience in automotive electrical design and release.
- Hands on experience with open loop and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controllers, ECUs, etc.
- Hands on experience with Low Voltage (LV) components, such as circuit breakers, relays, wiring, etc.
- Hands on experience with High Voltage (HV) components, such as DCDC converter, motor and inverter, battery, on-board charger, etc.
- Hands on experience with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocols.
- Experience using problem solving methodologies to diagnose complex issues, such as 8D, Five Whys, and Fishbone processes.
- Functional experience with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, NEC, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Travelling required.
