Practice Areas
The successful candidate will assist attorneys in matters involving:
- Washington State Workers' Compensation (Department of Labor & Industries and Self-Insured Employers)
- Personal Injury Litigation
- Motor Vehicle Collisions
- Third-Party Claims
- Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist Claims (UIM/UM)
- Insurance Coverage Disputes
- Insurance Bad Faith Litigation
- Appeals and Administrative Proceedings
Responsibilities
- Manage a substantial litigation and pre-litigation caseload
- Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and task management systems
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement materials
- Request, organize, summarize, and analyze medical records
- Review insurance policies and claim files
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and experts
- Assist with Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals matters and workers' compensation litigation
- Coordinate independent medical examinations (IMEs), depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Prepare settlement demands and supporting documentation
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and litigation strategy
- Maintain accurate case management records and document organization
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years of paralegal experience in workers' compensation, personal injury, insurance defense, insurance coverage, or civil litigation
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and case management
- Experience obtaining and summarizing medical records
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software
