What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Leonessa?
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Take reservations and manage the waiting list
- Answer phone calls and provide information to callers in a professional and courteous manner
- Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space
- Monitor dining areas for seating availability, cleanliness, and overall appearance
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards guests at all times
Experience:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred
- Familiarity with restaurant operations and procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using a Reservation system, such as OpenTable, is desirable.
- Strong guest relations skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Phone etiquette skills to handle incoming calls effectively
