What You Will Do
You will be hands-on with:
- Brake systems and adjustments
- Basic knowledge of tractor and 53' trailer PMs
- Tire service and replacement
- Basic troubleshooting

Who You Are
- Motivated and mechanically inclined
- Experienced with diesel, trailer, and/or reefer systems or eager to learn
- Equipped with basic tools and a valid driver’s license
- Brake certified (or willing to get certified—we’ll help!)

Full Job Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to jump start a tractor
- Align headlights
- Replace, mount and dismount tires
- Replace mud flaps, hangers, mirrors, shocks, windshield wiper components
- Adjust brakes, replace linings, drums, cams and bushings
- Use of cutting torch and minor welding
- Change oil and grease equipment
- Check all fluid levels
- Provides quality repairs and achieves time per repair standards
- Maintains compliance to parts procedures
- Follow all safety protocols to include wearing protective gear and maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Professional Skills and Abilities
- The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities, meet assigned deadlines, and manage the related stress
- Have the desire to learn shop procedures and technical information, take initiative
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Some class A/B technical school or BOCES experience is preferred -or- some experience working on automobiles, farm equipment or construction equipment
- Own basic set of tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Brake certification (we can provide)
