Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise employees involved in the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization
- Schedule and coordinate the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments
- May negotiate rates, delivery terms, freight rates, and classifications with carriers; analyze service performance
- Develop and implement new procedures and methods to reduce costs
- Resolve claims for loss or damage
- Make recommendations on staffing, performance appraisals, training and development of subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Job Responsibilities Part II
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from management
- Demonstrated management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
