Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise employees involved in the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization
• Schedule and coordinate the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments
• May negotiate rates, delivery terms, freight rates, and classifications with carriers; analyze service performance
• Develop and implement new procedures and methods to reduce costs
• Resolve claims for loss or damage
• Make recommendations on staffing, performance appraisals, training and development of subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  
  

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities Part II

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from management
• Demonstrated management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
