Senior Technical Intern - Algorithm Engineer

The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance.

Job Summary

This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Algorithm Engineering team and gain hands-on experience with algorithm development , statistical signal processing, and target tracking filters.

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and learn about the field of tactical radar
• Conduct limited scope testing and participate in test events under the supervision of engineers
• Complete assigned tasks on time
• Gather, assemble, and analyze data for engineers
• Help in research via modeling and simulation efforts in MATLAB
• Conduct design analysis and/or performance analysis under the supervision of engineers
• Learn about state estimation, Kalman filtering, and radar waveforms
• Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Rising senior pursuing an Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics degree
• Familiarity and experience writing and debugging MATLAB code
• Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
• Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

The salary for this position is $24/hour. This reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
