What You Will Do
As a Leonardo DRS Product Engineering Intern, you will:
- Test and Troubleshoot: Ensure smooth and precise operation of our electrical systems and Intel PC chipsets through rigorous testing and troubleshooting.
- Support Design and Development: Collaborate with the design and development team to modify and improve semiconductor processes. Analyze data and solve design challenges to meet production requirements.
- Task Ownership: Handle important tasks independently, including reviewing project instructions and drawings for test specifications, and supporting design for manufacture.
- Real-World Applications: Apply academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, integrating bills of materials and project documentation into our configuration management systems.
- Innovate and Test: Create and test new or modified electrical and mechanical systems, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
- Support Mission: Contribute to the mission by participating in the development of new manufacturing methods and process improvements, ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be actively enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate or master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Status as a Junior or Senior, with at at least two years of academic experience with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office 365
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Able to support a 15-20 hours per week onsite work schedule
- Familiarity with schematic entry and PCB layout design tools
- Familiarity with Creo, GD&T or SolidWorks
- Technical knowledge of engineering documents including specifications, test plan/procedure, engineering drawings, parts lists, and bills of material
- Familiarity with a laboratory environment and supporting equipment (multi-meter, oscilloscope, function generator, power supplies)
- Experience with basic hand tools and lab equipment
