Leonard Horse Transport is a reputable nationwide equine transportation company dedicated to safety, reliability, and exceptional care for horses and clients. We are currently hiring both Company OTR Horse Transport Drivers and Owner Operator Horse Transporters to join our growing team.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all company vehicles.
Position 1: OTR Horse Transport Driver (Company Driver)
Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
Type: 1099 Contractor
Schedule: Flexible routes typically 2–5 days
Requirements
- Minimum 5,000 miles horse trailering experience (required)
- Proficient horse handling, loading, and care (no training provided)
- Experience driving truck with gooseneck trailer
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Able to obtain DOT # and DOT medical card
- Must pass background check and drug screen
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Organized, punctual, dependable
- Smartphone required
- Insurable and age 25
- Living within 1 hour of Lexington/Nicholasville preferred

Position 2: Owner Operator Horse Transporter
Compensation: Up to 75% route split (up to ~$75,000/year potential)
Type: Independent Contractor
Schedule: Flexible OTR
Requirements
- Own enclosed 3 horse straight-load trailer or larger with ramp
- Experienced horseman and transporter
- Clean driving record
- Clean background check
- Organized, reliable, professional
- Strong communication and client skills
- Based within ~1 hour of Lexington preferred (not required)
