LT Directional Boring (LTDB), is a utilities contractor operating throughout the State of California. Our work focuses on Directional Drilling of telecom, gas, power, water, and sewer lines.
Our headquarters is located in Paso Robles, Ca with a secondary location in Selma, Ca. Our service area spans much of California - from the coast to the Nevada border - and includes regions from San Jose to Los Angeles, Bakersfield to Oregon, and the Lancaster to Bishop area.
Job Requirements
- Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment for underground utility installations
- Able to meet attendance & punctuality requirements
- Strong work ethic
- Read and follow bore plans, utility maps, and project drawings
- Display endurance, the ability to work in all weather conditions
- Work closely with the locator and drill crew to maintain proper alignment and depth
- Comply with drug/alcohol policy
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance
- Mix and manage drilling fluids based on soil conditions
- Must be willing to travel (company pay for hotels and per diem when out-of-town work is required).
- Monitor drilling operations to avoid existing utilities and obstacles
- Maintain a safe, organized jobsite in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and jobsite cleanup
- Complete bore logs and required job documentation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Class A license preferred
- Roadside construction experience
- Experience with concrete and/or asphalt work
- Must have a full understanding of all phases of underground construction (setting manholes, trenching, tie-ins, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and safe digging practices
- Experience with locating and tracking systems
- Ability to read and understand utility installation and safe digging practices
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Push pull, reach and carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 90 lbs.
- Load and unload tools and equipment on truck
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders
- All work is performed at remote locations; driving and sitting are required.
- All work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
- Must be able to work in small/confined areas
- Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
- Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat and any other applicable safety gear
