What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Lenzner Lines?
Lenzner Travel has an immediate opening for a full-time Safety Manager. This position includes assisting the Safety Director with day to day operations and managing aspects of the Safety Program for our Charter Bus operations. Ideal candidate has previous DOT/FMCSA safety experience as well as experience compiling and managing safety data.REQUIREMENTS
- Assist ownership and management with the development of driver training that fosters safe driving actions and a safe driving mentality.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program for new and existing drivers that covers safe driving techniques, DOT regulations, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions that include classroom instruction and practical driving exercises.
- Assess the training needs of employees and tailor programs to meet those needs effectively.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance in all training materials.
- Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement in driver performance and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and resources for drivers to enhance their skills post-training.
- Assists management with the company's compliance of the Electronic Loggin Device (ELD).
- Work closely to assist the General Manager with: scheduling training, retraining, and processing payroll each pay period.
- Assists the Safety Director with Quarterly Safety Meetings.
- Must have a Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement or attain within 90 days of employment.
- Will be required to drive on occasion to help the team.
Skills
- Strong understanding of motorcoach driving.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proven experience in developing training materials and conducting engaging training sessions.
- Ability to assess individual learning styles and adapt training methods accordingly.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in program development and execution.
- Proficient in using technology for training purposes including simulation tools or e-learning platforms.
