Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced environment. Hiring for day shift 7am-3pm.
Duties
- Set up CNC lathe machines, including loading tooling, calibrating equipment, and ensuring proper machine alignment using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Program CNC lathes utilizing CNC programming languages and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to create efficient machining routines.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate production of parts.
- Operate CNC lathes and related machinery such as CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls or similar systems to produce high-precision components.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on machines to optimize performance and prevent downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assist with setup, assembly, or repair tasks as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining safety standards across all operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating and setting up CNC lathes or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and CAM software; experience with SolidWorks or CAD is a plus.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and mechanical schematics accurately.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality assurance.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of Fanuc or similar CNC control systems; experience with CNC milling machines is beneficial.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
