Role Description
This full-time, hybrid role is based in Texas and offers opportunities for remote work. The Inside Sales Engineer delivers technical and sales support to customers, partners, and the field sales team. Responsibilities include assessing client requirements, designing tailored surveillance solutions (such as CCTV, access control, and video management systems), preparing quotes, and facilitating clear communication between customers and the company. This position blends technical expertise with strong customer-facing skills to advance sales opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
• Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms.
• Assess customer needs and recommend effective surveillance solutions.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial quotations.
• Assist the sales team with RFP/RFQ submissions and tender documentation.
• Recommend appropriate products (cameras, NVRs, VMS, analytics, storage, etc.) based on project requirements.
• Develop system designs and network topology diagrams.
• Coordinate with distributors and vendors to confirm product availability and secure competitive pricing.
• Conduct product presentations and demonstrations, both remotely and in-office.
• Address customer technical questions, concerns, and objections.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Work closely with field sales, project engineers, and procurement teams.
• Ensure smooth order processing and effective handover to project/technical teams.
• Follow up on quotations and active opportunities to support deal closure.
• Stay informed on emerging surveillance technologies, industry standards, and competitor offerings.
• Participate in vendor training and pursue relevant certifications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
• Technical certifications in IT, security systems, or networking (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, or vendor-specific credentials) are a plus.
Experience:
• 2–4 years of proven experience in inside sales, account management, or customer service, ideally within the security, IT, or software solutions industry.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and adherence to a structured sales process.
• Experience working with channel partners, system integrators, or resellers is a strong advantage.
Technical Knowledge:
• Basic understanding of IP-based video surveillance, Video Management Software (VMS), and access control systems.
• Ability to quickly learn technical product features and clearly explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
