What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Manager position at LensDirect?
LensDirect, one of the fastest-growing leaders in online vision care, is looking for a Social Media Manager who lives and breathes content, loves trends, and thrives in a fast-moving, highly creative environment. If you’re obsessed with social platforms, love capturing and telling stories, and want to help scale a major consumer brand, this role is for you. This is currently remote position - but we are building a facility (with a beautiful studio) and would expect this to be an in-office/hybrid role.
- Edit and produce content (short-form, storytelling, UGC-style, behind-the-scenes, product shots) that aligns with LensDirect’s visual identity and brand voice.
- Upload and schedule content across all major social platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
- Manage and support the content calendar, ensuring consistent posting, trend alignment, and brand momentum.
- Film content regularly (in-studio, lifestyle, UGC-style, customer features, product demos) and bring creative ideas to every shoot.
- Identify and reach out to creators, influencers, and potential brand partners to support ongoing campaigns and collaborations.
- Support the marketing team with day-to-day tasks, brainstorms, and campaign execution.
- Monitor social performance and report on engagement, reach, and growth.
- Jump into community management — responding to comments, messages, and interacting with customers and fans.
- Keep a pulse on industry trends, viral formats, pop culture, eyewear trends, and platform changes — and proactively recommend content ideas.
- Help ideate and support larger marketing initiatives, launches, and brand moments.
- You’re creative, fast, adaptable, and always thinking a few trends ahead.
- You have strong editing and storytelling skills (mobile-first editing is a plus—CapCut, Adobe, etc.).
- You’re comfortable on-camera and behind the camera.
- You’re passionate about social media, culture, and ideally eyewear.
- You’re organized, reliable, and great at managing multiple moving parts.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working with a high-energy marketing team.
- You want to grow with a company that’s scaling quickly and launching new ideas nonstop.
- Experience in e-commerce, fashion, beauty, or consumer brands.
- Eye for aesthetics, visual storytelling, and product photography.
- Past work with creator/influencer partnerships.
- Love of eyewear and interest in the optics industry.
