Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Clarksville, IN. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, conducting refractions and ocular health assessments, educating patients on eye health and treatment options, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. The Optometrist will document findings in patient records, ensure adherence to clinical and regulatory standards, and contribute to a positive, efficient practice environment. The role also involves collaborating with support staff, participating in practice growth initiatives, and maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge in optometry.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana.
  • Experience performing comprehensive eye exams, refractions, contact lens fittings, and managing common ocular conditions.
  • Knowledge of optometric equipment, diagnostic tools, and current clinical best practices in eye care.
  • Strong communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain diagnoses and treatment plans clearly and respectfully.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical environment and maintain accurate, timely patient documentation.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care, professionalism, and ethical practice.
  • Interest in family eye care and building long-term patient relationships; prior experience in a private practice or family-oriented setting is beneficial.
  • Willingness to participate in practice operations, scheduling efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives.
