E! News is seeking a Weekend Social Media Editor to lead weekend social media programming. This editor will serve as the primary point of contact during weekend hours, independently driving social strategy, executing real-time coverage, and maintaining the editorial voice across the brand's channels.
The ideal candidate is a newsroom-savvy social media pro with exceptional editorial judgment, deep knowledge of the entertainment and pop culture landscape, and a proven track record of producing high-performing content in fast-paced environments.
This position will work Wednesday through Sunday, and requires availability during key entertainment events and breaking news.

Responsibilities
- Lead weekend social media operations with minimal oversight, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging content across platforms.
- Make real-time editorial decisions during breaking news and high-traffic moments, maintaining brand integrity and audience trust.
- Write smart, voice-driven copy tailored to each platform while upholding E! News' tone and standards.
- Develop, produce, and publish social-first multimedia assets, including graphics and videos optimized for performance and engagement.
- Collaborate with weekday editors to align on weekly content planning, evergreen initiatives, and tentpole coverage strategies.
- Monitor performance metrics and sentiment to inform decisions and surface insights for continued growth and audience engagement.
- 3 years of experience in social media, with a focus on social content publishing and audience engagement.
- Proven ability to operate independently and make editorial decisions in high-pressure, real-time situations.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
- A strong understanding of platform best practices, emerging social trends, and entertainment audience behavior.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for tone, detail, and accuracy.
- Experience working cross-functionally with editorial, video, and live events teams.
- Deep familiarity with social media tools and publishing platforms, including Meta Business Suite, Dash Social, and True Anthem.
- Willingness to work a Wednesday-Sunday schedule, including holidays and late hours as needed for breaking news and major entertainment events.
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
