Responsibilities
- Conduct usability assessments and/or provide usability expertise on priority division websites on a routine basis and ensure they are optimized for social media and viewing on mobile devices; summarize recommendations and share with the site content owner.
- Ensure that web content, format, and layout submitted for usability review during clearance process follow CDC web council and/or social media guidelines, 508 compliance requirements, and website template rules. Serve as a resource on usability best practices and 508 compliance for the division.
- Remediate Microsoft Office files for 508 compliance for posting on the web, including completion of required HHS Checklists. If available through HHS, review 508 scan reports (such as Worldspace or similar product) and offer suggestions to address 508 issues on a quarterly basis. 4. Generate and save/file routine (monthly, annual) metrics reports for infection control websites using available digital analytics, including Adobe Analytics, Foresee ASCI data, Google Search Console, and other available analytics and usability tools as appropriate. Generate specific (one-off) metrics reports for specific pages/sections/websites and/or date ranges upon request.
- Review broken link reports on 2-3 websites per month so that each site is checked at least once per year, research corrections, and submit edits to remove or correct broken links or incorporate best practices for hyperlinking.
- Participate in meetings as representative of the DHQP communications team and provides meeting updates/summary to relevant team members.
- Provide consultation support to the CDC in triaging and developing responses to DHQP inquiries to CDC-INFO.
- Proactively identifies, researches, and resolves problems or issues; participates in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommends updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Seven (7) years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience.
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience to substitute.
- Computer skills to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports.
