Job Summary

Reporting to the SVP, Supply Chain Services, the VP Sourcing and Procurement is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the supplier relationships, category performance, sourcing & procurement, and Supply Chain (SC) technology functions for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH). This role will drive cost optimization, innovation, risk management, and strategic partnerships system-wide. Additional duties include: through partnerships, develop strategic supply chain initiatives w/BSW entities and enterprise, provide current policy & procedures meeting regulation standards, drive team performance through KPIs, manage total costs appropriately, and are aligned with BSWH business objectives. In partnership with SC Operations, SC Logistics and BSW Entities/Enterprise, focuses on continuous improvement of the flow and movement of equipment, supplies, and materials through the BSWH supply chain and directs regular studies on service efficiency, key performance metrics, cost effectiveness, and benchmarks for supply chain planning and forecasting. Collaborates with leadership in SC Logistics and SC Operations, finance, and other departments to drive improvement in supply chain management processes within area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements impacting BSWH supply chain programs, processes, and operations.

Essential Functions

• Oversees sourcing, contracting and procurement functions for BSWH.
• Develops and implements strategies, priorities, and tactics designed to improve the direction, positioning, and performance of supply chain services in alignment with BSWH business objectives.
• Develops and implements best in class supply chain operations, sourcing, and procurement processes, optimizing efficiency by utilizing KPI-driven performance metrics.
• Advises on the development and implementation of best-in-class data management and data integrity policies and procedures related to BSWH's products and services.
• Collaborates with executive, clinical, and operational teams to identify, negotiate, and procure products and services that provide the best clinical outcomes at the lowest cost.
• Promotes effective utilization of supply chain services and resources to improve operational efficiency through day-to-day focus on supply chain operational tools, including dashboards, metrics, and analytics.
• Sets, reviews, and revises supply chain policies, programs, practices, procedures, and standards and communicates to senior leadership, departments, and stakeholders.
  
  

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

• 7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Procurement, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Excellent supplier relationship-building skills.
• Experience in supply chain technologies, data integrity/management, high-volume operations, procurement, and materials strategy, and lowering acquisition costs preferred.
• Ability to apply analytics to critical supply chain decisions (e.g., total cost of ownership, make vs. lease vs. buy, NPV, ROI).
• Strong negotiating skills based on a thorough understanding of sales/marketing practices. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
