Job Description
The Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) is in charge of a portfolio of North American suppliers (on average 10). The overall responsibility is to manage the execution of the contract between the suppliers and Safran Aircraft Engines and to ensure that they deliver at a satisfactory level of performance; more specifically deliver products on time in accordance with the quality requirements and a target price.
1.1. Measuring and communicating performance
Expected to measure the performance of the suppliers in his/her portfolio. The SPM shall be knowledgeable about the performance, which should be formally communicated to the suppliers and the internal team.
In Particular, The SPM Will:
Expected to lead and coordinates the actions to recover the supplier performance to the expected levels (often defined in the contracts). The SPM is expected to visit the supplier frequently to support the performance recovery efforts.

The SPM is responsible in identifying and mitigating risks that the suppliers in his / her portfolio will fail to perform at the expected levels. It will be done with different analysis and by regularly visiting the suppliers' manufacturing locations.

Job Description

- Link the supplier performance to the contractual obligations and calculate penalties or claim when applicable.
- Implement relevant logistic and quality KPIs with the suppliers to anticipate performance problems.
Expected to lead and coordinates the actions to recover the supplier performance to the expected levels (often defined in the contracts). The SPM is expected to visit the supplier frequently to support the performance recovery efforts.
In Particular, The SPM Will:
- Characterize the consequences of supplier performance to the downstream supply chain (including Safran assembly line and customers)
- Define, with the supplier and the Safran team, at the appropriate management level, an action plan to contain and recover nonperformance
- Use the contracts to incentivize the supplier to promptly recover. Manage, in coordination with the commercial teams, the claim process when it is relevant.
The SPM is responsible in identifying and mitigating risks that the suppliers in his / her portfolio will fail to perform at the expected levels. It will be done with different analysis and by regularly visiting the suppliers' manufacturing locations.
In Particular, The SPM Will:
- Lead regular risks analysis with the supplier, including load versus capacity assessment, new products industrialization risks … Those analysis are formally presented by Safran leaders and the suppliers General Managers.
- Build, with the supplier, a Business Continuity Plan to mitigate occurrence and impacts of major events (fire, flood, explosion …)
- Manage a plan to reduce supplier risks of nonperformance (reduce occurrence and impact)
- Define a visit and audit plan, tailored to each supplier
