Summer Associate - Dallas, TX

Description: Fox Rothschild is accepting applications for 2L Summer Associates in the Dallas, TX office. Please submit your resume, transcript, cover letter, and writing sample to be considered. Qualified applicants will have strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and an interest in Litigation or Real Estate work. Fox Rothschild's Summer Associate Program allows law students the opportunity to gain experience and legal training from Firm attorneys during the summer following their second year of law school.

Essential Functions

• Work directly with attorneys on a variety of substantive and challenging work assignments designed to provide exposure to the practical aspects of the legal profession.
• Conduct thorough research and assist in gathering all the data and information that is relevant to the client or case.
• Draft memos and motions regarding various areas of law.
• Draft substantive articles and client alerts to inform clients on legal developments in their industries.
• Review and analyze court decisions.
• Observe attorneys in trials, hearings, deposition, and negotiations, arbitrations, client conferences, closings, and other client-related activities.
• Participate in interactive training through workshops, webinars, presentations, department and practice area meetings, and general professional development programs.
• Receive mentorship by partners and associates of the Firm.
• Be receptive to guidance and detailed feedback upon the completion of projects/ assignments.
  
  

Minimum Required Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

• Must be a rising 2L full-time or 3L part-time law student at an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2028.
• Must be able to commute to at least one Fox Rothschild office for the duration of the Summer Associate Program.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
  
  

Visual Acuity

• Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  
  

Compensation

• Our summer associate salary is based on our first-year associate salary, which varies by office. Summer associates in our Dallas office will be paid $3,653.85/per week.
