CBS News Bay Area in San Francisco is searching for a Studio Technician to join our dynamic production team!
The candidate were looking for is a phenomenal communicator, has strong organizational skills, has an eye for framing studio shots and operate a studio jib in additional to other various studio responsibilities as assigned. We have a few jibs across our studios supporting traditional studio productions on hard news set as well as full Virtual Reality productions on a giant studio Cyc. If youre ready to work with a team that challenges the norm when it comes to how the local news story is told inside a studio space, weve got something for you to see.

Hiring Salary Range: $85,000.00 - 95,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Job Function
- Ideal candidate would work as the communication link between the production control room and the on-set talent during production and act as a studio / field jib operator when required.
- The position works closely with show directors and news talent, as well as the Operations and Engineering Departments to improve production possibilities of various news and special programming projects.
- Additional responsibilities include daily studio setup and maintenance (including studio lighting, wireless microphones IFB and stage) for CBS News Bay Area newscasts, special programming / live remote specials and other responsibilities as needed.
- Candidate must be willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
