Education And Required Credentials
- Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety with 5 years of managerial experience.
- Degree in science or occupational health field
- Industrial hygiene knowledge and experience
- Occupational safety and health or other certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. EHS regulations, as well as hazardous materials, solid waste management, safety, chemical management, and ergonomics
- Emergency response knowledge and experience
- Experience conducting risk assessments
- Biosafety knowledge and experience
- ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Drive continuous improvement in the company's safety monitoring and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all company policies and federal/state/local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborates with company locations on EHS performance, develops and improves strategies to prevent injuries and incidents, supports risk assessments, incident management and investigations, and implements corrective and preventative actions.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, supports company locations with new requirements, and leads regulatory reporting processes as needed.
- Develop and deliver effective EHS training and communications
- Conducts EHS Regulatory Compliance Audits
- Analyzes injury and incident data to understand patterns and trends, identifies and proposes practical solutions to mitigate risks.
- Major areas of emphasis include employee health and safety programs including employee safety, workplace violence, safety data sheet maintenance, ergonomic injury reduction, insect and rodent infestation, mold remediation, chemical management, electrical safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, regulated waste management, air emissions, stormwater and wastewater management, as well as emergency response and incident investigation and analysis.
- Develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs, EHS management system, and training in accordance with governmental and corporate requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, PPE assessments, and waste profiles.
- Review and analyzes regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
- Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist.
- Provide employee awareness/training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.
- Conduct EH and S regulatory compliance audits
- Role would require up to 50% travel - throughout the US, Mexico and Canada
