Purpose of Position

As the Senior Director of External Communications, you will be a key leader within Ralliant’s Communications function, responsible for shaping and executing a compelling external communications strategy that enhances Ralliant’s reputation, amplifies our growth strategy, and showcases our products and people to our key stakeholders. You will lead public relations, media strategy, and external storytelling, managing high-impact campaigns and initiatives. You will also be a sought-after leader and thought partner to our business level communications leaders, building their capabilities and improving their results. In addition to your proven communications expertise, you are a strategic thinker and disciplined executor with a business mindset, making decisions grounded in data and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with Ralliant’s business priorities, business strategy, and brand positioning.
  • Craft compelling narratives that articulate Ralliant’s innovation and market leadership across test and measurement, sensors, and aerospace/defense technologies.
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Investor Relations, OpCo Presidents, and CHRO to ensure alignment across external messaging.
  • Lead proactive and reactive media relations, including press releases, media briefings, and executive interviews. Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media, industry analysts, and influencers.
  • Oversee the development of thought leadership content, including op-eds, bylines, and speaking engagements.
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations to ensure consistent messaging across investor communications, earnings announcements, and financial media. Support the development of executive messaging for investor events, roadshows, and shareholder communications.
  • Monitor media and market sentiment to inform reputation and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact external communications campaigns and initiatives, including product launches, brand activations, and executive visibility programs.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and timely delivery of communications programs in partnership with Corporate and OpCo teams.
  • Manage agency partners and internal resources to deliver against campaign goals and KPIs. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for external communications programs.
  • Use data and analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, media impact, and brand sentiment. Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Monitor emerging issues and manage reputational risks through timely and strategic communications. Lead crisis communications planning and execution in coordination with Legal, Risk, and HR teams.
  • Lead annual corporate reporting in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
  • Lead the development and execution of Ralliant’s global social media strategy to amplify brand storytelling, executive visibility, and thought leadership across key platforms.
  • Oversee content planning, creative development, and publishing cadence in alignment with corporate messaging, product launches, and investor communications.

Relationships

  • Reports to the Head of Communications
  • Collaborates with all functions HR, Investor Relations, Legal, HR, and OpCo teams
  • Manages external agency partners
  • Partners closely with internal communications team and Director of Internal Communications

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media strategy
  • Proven success in a technology-driven, global, or industrial environment
  • Experience supporting investor relations and executive communications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex communications programs and manage high-stakes media engagement

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Advanced degree or certifications in communications or related disciplines preferred

Bonus or Equity

This position is also eligible for bonus and equity as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is $174,400.00 - $323,800.00
