Job Description

• Working with the data warehouse team to support their health plan's SQL Database
• Monitor SQL Database and maintain database service performance
• Monitor and maintain database service performance
• Resolves complex issues involving database performance, database capacity, resiliency, stability, replication, and other key aspects of distributed database technology.
• Supporting the Data Warehouse and their platforms in a critical production environment
• Responsible for the deployment of SQL code
• Documenting technical processes and procedures
• Managing SQL Server instances; configurations, upgrades, patching, etc.
• Working with medium to large sized databases
• Pay rate between $40-60/hr

Skills And Requirements

• Experience with multiple SQL server versions: 2012 -2022
• Experience with SQL server replication
• Able to manage SQL server instances; configurations, upgrades, patching, etc.
• Experience deploying SQL code
• Excellent communication skills – explaining technical details to less technical audience
• Experience operating in a critical production environment
• Experience with Azure cloud; storage accounts, backups and restore
• Proficient in writing maintenance utilities
• Very proficient in analyzing and performance tuning user queries
• Proficient at documenting technical processes and procedures
• Experience with medium to large size database
• Experience with "real-time" troubleshooting; blocking, resource utilization
• Must be located in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, North Carolina, or Virginia -Experience with Visual Studio, GitHub, DevOps and implementation of SSIS packages
• Experience with AD directory security for SQL server permissions
• Prior healthcare and/or health plan experience
• Experience with PowerShell script
• Experience with migration of SQL server instance to different environment
