Purpose

Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and manage plans and events focused on growing CareFirst brand awareness and favorability. Establishes market presence by executing event plans; publicizing events; promoting services.
- Manages and coaches staff on vision, priorities, projects, and individual performance and development. Continually reviews staffing requirements and makes recommendations as needed for additional support. Makes decisions regarding hiring, promotion, and development.
- Manages the team in the execution and planning of corporate events by developing program design; organizing event suppliers; coordinating production team; staffing. Must have ability to manage and oversee high visibility work. Gathers feedback to analyze event performance and drives improvements for future events.
- Handles ordering and invoicing of show services. Manages budgets and adjusts when necessary. Books venues and negotiates contracts and fees for venues and partners.
- Leads the development and approval of event signage, branding assets and consumer premiums, including management of sponsor approval process, vendor management and in market installation, as well as documentation of event branding for sponsor materials.

Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Event Planning, Public Relations, Business or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience
- 5 years Progressive experience in an events planning role in a project management capacity overseeing venue lists, set-up, registration, attendance and committee lists.
- 1 year supervisory experience.
- Strong customer orientation to conduct demographic analysis as it relates to clients.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
- Strong research and strategic analysis skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
- Strong event planning skillset, both pre and post event.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
