Position Summary
The Import/Export Specialist will serve as a key liaison between our Customer Service and Distribution/Logistics teams. This role will ensure seamless coordination of international shipments, documentation, and compliance for ZeptoMetrix customers around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international shipments (inbound and outbound), ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, customs forms, etc.) for accuracy and country specific compliance.
- Act as a primary point of contact between the Customer Service team, Distribution/Logistics, and external freight forwarders/customs brokers and the Customer/Distributor.
- Monitor international shipment status and proactively communicate updates to customers and internal teams and rectify import concerns.
- Resolve import/export related issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain library of Import Documentation templates.
- Support customers with order status, delivery timelines, and regulatory documentation needs.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of import/export laws, including ITAR, EAR, Harmonized Codes, and customs requirements.
- Collaborate with Distribution/Logistics to optimize shipping processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of international shipments in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or international customer service.
- Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and international shipping practices required.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other essential time constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization.
- Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
- Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
