Job Description
As Senior NodeJS Software Engineer, you will use your experience to build resilient and scalable APIs for our customers using the latest cloud technologies and development methodologies.
This team is building the back end of the Guest Experience product which is greenfield, less than 1 year old, and utilizes a modern tech stack (NodeJS, GraphQl, AWS, DynamoDB, etc...). The Guest Experience application is used by internal and external customers to replicate a user experience that is custom to the Plan Sponsor, without exposing PII data for sales, marketing, and user training purposes.
This team will have a total of 5 engineers and 1 Product Owner who work together closely day to day. All engineering teams are encouraged to self-organize and share ownership of defining technical requirements and story writing.
You will be part of a team responsible of API creation from discovery through design and development and its production maintenance. You will also maintain a user centric and business-as-priority approach in design perspective and practice.
In this position you will partner and collaborate with the Engineering manager, Architects, Quality assurance, Business partners, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, and Project managers to effectively translate the business requirements and architectural designs into engineering components.
You will also work closely with Product Management, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Architecture to delivery highly reliable and performant products that drive business value.
You will collaborate across a cross-functional development team and stakeholders to make high-level architectural decisions, propose design patterns, and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of digital solutions.
You will also be involved throughout the entire development life cycle of a product and must be able to deliver an efficient solution, as well as identify and properly mitigate any risks to the product before deployment to production.
You will write code, develop software components, and implement complex functionalities according to product requirements.
Leverage advanced programming skills to design and implement complex features, optimize performance, and ensure code efficiency.
Write and execute comprehensive test cases, conduct code reviews, perform debugging, and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability, stability, and high quality of digital solutions.
Participate in SAFe agile or other development methodologies, attend meetings, contribute to project planning, and help drive the progress and success of digital projects.
Explore new tools, frameworks, and techniques to improve digital solutions and drive innovation within the development team.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture diagrams, code documentation, and other relevant documentation while sharing their knowledge and expertise with team members, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and collaboration.

Skills And Requirements
5 years of professional software development experience.
3 years of NodeJS development with TypeScript.
3 years of automated UI testing experience using Playwright, headless browser automation, and network request logging
2 years of Cloud Experience; preferably with Amazon Web Services (AWS) API gateways, lambda functions, DynamoDB, Secret Store, and ECS
2 year of experience working in an Agile-based development environment using Agile concepts such as Continuous Integration (CI/CD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
2 years of on call experience for a production application, using telemetry tools like Opsgenie and New Relic
Understanding of various database solutions (SQL, NoSQL)
Reading logs, troubleshooting full stack bugs using telemetry tools like New Relic, amazon x-ray, distributed tracing, splunk, cloudwatch, chrome devtools
API testing experience using tools like Postman, supertest, axios, Jest, nodejs assert
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing GraphQL APIs
Exposure to product/services development, cloud-based platforms is highly preferred (i.e. Azure, GCP, AWS)
Experience with CI/CD: CircleCI, importing orbs, creating yml files, GitHub actions
Experience developing applications using airflow.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and collaboration skills.

Professional experience with PostGres SQL on AWS
