We are looking for a Sr Director, Human Resources. The Sr Director, Human Resources will lead the North America HRBP function by developing and implementing strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals and drive overall success. This role provides end-to-end employee lifecycle support in both union and non-union environments, ensuring HR strategies align with branch operations and regional business goals. This role requires strong leadership, advanced problem-solving skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships across the organization to support business growth. This role is a hybrid role based out of the corporate office in Atlanta with approximately 30% travel throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partner to Regional SVPs

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Regional SVPs, aligning HR strategies with business priorities.
  • Drive transformation initiatives that support branch performance, productivity, and talent retention.

Lead HRBP Team

  • Direct and develop HRBPs supporting branch operations across North America.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality HR partnership and a unified HR approach.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Influence decisions related to talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and branch support needs.
  • Promote collaboration and best-practice sharing across regions.

Talent Partner

  • Oversee performance management processes to strengthen capability, drive accountability, and improve outcomes.
  • Lead regional succession planning efforts, identifying and developing future leaders across branches.
  • Support leaders with talent reviews, workforce planning, and ongoing capability development strategies.

Employee & Labor Relations

  • Ensure consistent, professional end-to-end employee support, including investigations, coaching, corrective actions, and separations.
  • Guide teams on union-related activities such as contract interpretation, grievances, and labor-management engagement.

Operational Alignment

  • Partner with leaders to align HR programs with operational needs.
  • Ensure HR processes support service delivery, compliance, and consistent execution across regions.
  • Identify HR risks and opportunities impacting branch operations and recommend solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Master's degree or relevant HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in senior HR leadership roles, demonstrating a proven track record of driving organizational success and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge at an organizational level.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with experience guiding and influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Union labor experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with business objectives and drive growth.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience addressing complex business challenges.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness, with experience enhancing financial performance through strategic HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within a dynamic environment, adapting strategies to meet changing organizational needs and priorities.
