Job Description

Job Description

Scope & Scale of Responsibility
- Multi-GW hyperscale campus in NA, travel is required and up to 50% at timess
- 300 direct and indirect reports across multiple campuses
- 24/7 mission-critical operations
- Oversight of NNN lease performance and landlord relationships
- Capital planning partnership for expansion and lifecycle refresh
- Enterprise incident command authority for major facility events
Enterprise Operations Leadership
- Provide executive oversight of all data center facility operations, including power distribution, cooling infrastructure, life safety systems, BMS, EPMS, and environmental monitoring.
- Drive operational excellence across uptime performance, preventive maintenance execution, reliability engineering, and lifecycle asset management.
- Establish standardized operating frameworks across geographically distributed campuses.
- Serve as executive incident commander for major facility events.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action planning, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Implement portfolio-wide risk mitigation programs aligned with hyperscale cloud expectations.
- Maintain compliance with SOC2, ISO, local AHJs, environmental and safety regulations.
- Partner with finance and infrastructure leadership on multi-year capacity planning, operating budgets, and capital forecasting.
- Drive cost optimization across utilities, contracts, service providers, and asset lifecycle strategy.
- Implement KPI dashboards measuring reliability, efficiency (PUE), cost per MW, and SLA adherence.
- Act as senior executive interface with landlords under NNN agreements.
- Ensure lease compliance, performance transparency, and enforcement of service level obligations.
- Lead strategic vendor management and contract performance across third-party operators.
- Establish governance mechanisms to protect OCI’s operational standards in leased environments.
- Partner with design and construction teams to ensure seamless transition from commissioning to steady-state operations.
- Oversee acceptance testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and operational readiness validation.
- Build operational frameworks scalable to future GW expansion.
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing technical organization of ~500 professionals.
- Recruit and retain top industry talent across operations, engineering, and leadership roles.
- Build leadership succession planning and technical capability development programs.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and operational discipline.
- Serve as executive representative with local communities, regulators, utilities, and government stakeholders.
- Drive operational transparency and positive external relationships in hyperscale markets.
- Ensure environmental stewardship and compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Partner with Cloud Operations, Security, Compliance, Engineering, and Construction leadership to ensure infrastructure readiness for AI and high-density workloads.
- Influence long-term design standards based on operational learnings.
- Contribute to enterprise-level strategy for OCI global expansion.
- 15 years in mission-critical data center or large-scale industrial operations leadership.
- Demonstrated experience leading large distributed technical teams (300–500 personnel).
- Deep expertise in electrical and mechanical sequence of operations for Tier III/IV or hyperscale facilities.
- Executive-level experience managing NNN lease relationships and landlord governance.
- Proven incident management leadership in mission-critical environments.
- Experience overseeing multi-site portfolios exceeding 1 GW preferred.
- Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional senior leadership.
- Working knowledge of Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, ISO, SOC2, and North American regulatory frameworks.
