Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals providing high-quality respiratory care across a diverse patient population. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver both routine and advanced respiratory therapy to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in a variety of clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Provide care in critical care environments, including the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), Emergency Department, and other high-acuity areas.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in rapid response and code teams.
- Rotate through various departments within the Health System as needed to support patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- May include rotating day and night shifts.
- Flexibility to work in any area of the Health System is required.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar preferred
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- RCP State License in the state of California
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
- Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs.
- Must be able to physically roll a 100 lb., horizontally positioned patient
- Must be able to stand and/or walk 75% of the 12-hour workday
- Must be able to sit, push, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time
- Must have skill in performing routine pulmonary function test
- Must have familiarity and knowledge of handling: Blood Gas Machines, Exercise Systems, and other types of equipment routinely found in pulmonary function laboratory
- Must possess oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate with colleagues, administrators, patients, visitors, staff, faculty, physicians, and on-site servicemen
