Position Summary
The Research Associate will be part of the neuroepigenetics research team led by Dr. Marija Kundakovic, focusing on hormonal and environmental factors driving sex differences in
depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
This position involves characterizing molecular and cellular changes in the brain across the menopausal transition and the ovarian cycle, utilizing advanced epigenomics techniques and bioinformatics data analyses. The incumbent performs genomics experiments; facilitates data generation, maintenance, and analysis; and performs lab maintenance.
Essential Functions
Handles brain tissue, isolates nuclei, and performs nuclei sorting.
Performs genomics experiments, including single-cell multiome ATAC -seq/ RNA -seq and cell type-specific Micro-C assay.
Assists with data maintenance, sample submission, and communication with genomics and sequencing cores and bioinformatics teams.
Performs lab maintenance.
Attends meetings with lab members and collaborators, assists lab members, and works with undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience, biological sciences, physiology, or related field;
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in a research lab.
Expertise in molecular biology and neuroscience.
Experience in molecular biology techniques.
Minimum Salary: $48,000
Maximum Salary: $50,000
