Job Summary
The Associate Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst role writes test plans, performs test execution, and tracks defects using the defined QA tools, processes, and methodology. The Associate QA Analyst applies analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate processes through careful testing in order to maximize product quality and value delivery.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to established Patterson QA standards for Quality Assurance Process and Methodology
- Collaborate with team members, including Software Engineers and Product Owners, regarding feature design
- Analyze design documents to create test plans
- Create quality test plan documentation that can be reviewed and utilized by other QA
- Execute test scenarios using existing documentation
- Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications, in partnership with team members
- Perform issue tracking, reporting and resolution of issues found during testing
- Provide regular status as directed throughout the release cycle to the appropriate leadership and development team members
- Provide support for escalated incident tickets to resolve application and software issues
- For regulated products, follows regulatory requirements for software development/testing and provide needed documentation
- Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
- Participate in regulatory and compliance activities.
- Associate's Degree with emphasis on Computer Science, IT or related QA field or equivalent education and/or experience
- Experience with desktop, web, cloud or mobile applications
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience
- Experience in quality assurance and testing applications
- Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps
- Experience working with "Practice Information Management Systems" (PIMS) in the Animal Health industry. (Example: Intravet, NaVetor, AVImark, Pulse, Cornerstone, etc.)
- Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize
