As a Purchasing Agent III, you’ll be using your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. You'll be responsible for qualifying our vendors, monitoring our vendor quality, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our vendor information. Responsibilities
- Solicit RFx's to Suppliers (sole/single source and competitive)
- Evaluate Quotes/Proposals received
- Complete and document Price Analysis
- Negotiate various elements of quotes/proposals, terms and conditions
- Write detailed Procurement Summaries as required
- Fully document Purchase Order Files
- Work closely with programs and other functional areas such as planning, operations and finance
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Procurement experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
- Strong understanding of all aspects of finance and accounting related to procurement
- Complete understanding of the full cycle of procurement processes
