Job Summary The Production and Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory
management, efficient movement of materials, and timely support of production activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining material flow, preparing kits for work orders, and supporting
manufacturing operations through precise inventory control and documentation.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Perform daily shipping and receiving activities, including inspection, documentation, and system entry.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Monitor, manage, and replenish inventory levels to support production demands.
- Create and issue kits for production work orders using pick lists and inventory control procedures .
- Interpret and work with indented Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate material allocation and usage.
- Track material movement and ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of inventory.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to resolve material shortages and discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the warehouse and production support areas.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, warehouse
- Experience kitting work orders and using pick lists in a production environment.
- Working knowledge of indented Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required (up to company-specified limits).
- Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or simulation industry environment.
- Basic understanding of production workflows and material movement processes.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- Full-time, on-site role at AVT Simulation’s Oviedo, FL facility.
- Hands-on work in warehouse, production support, and inventory areas. Essential Mental Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving and reasoning skills to assist with resolution of issues.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Capability to interpret data.
