UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Product Analyst/Business Analyst for a hybrid position in New York City (3 days week/onsite) supporting the delivery of medium- to large-scale, workflow-based applications that improve operations in areas such as permitting, inspections, roadway repair, bridge maintenance, and asset tracking. This role will be responsible for requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation, testing, and supporting stakeholder communication throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Minimum of 6 years’ experience overseeing medium-scale projects, including sub-projects and distinct deliverables
- Proven ability to coordinate and delegate assignments for consultant staff numbering over 10
- Experience serving as the primary contact for status, meetings, scope changes, and financial/technical issues between project staff and the client agency
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related or relevant field
- 6 years of experience analyzing and documenting requirements for mission-critical web/client-server applications
- Strong leadership and presentation skills
- Understanding of application development tools, methodologies, and environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently across diverse groups
- Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Skilled in requirements elicitation and documentation techniques
- Strong facilitation skills and experience building consensus among stakeholders
- Experience with SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, RUP, and Agile
- Ability to produce accurate work estimates and manage delivery commitments
The Senior Business Analyst will support full project lifecycles and will:
- Serve as the liaison between business units and technical teams
- Translate business needs into detailed software requirements
- Conduct requirements gathering using techniques such as process modeling, data flow diagrams, and user stories
- Document business workflows, functional specifications, user interfaces, and test cases
- Validate and obtain stakeholder sign-off on requirements
- Provide application demonstrations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Assist QA teams with functional and requirements-based testing
- Create test plans, report defects, and support development teams with remediation
- Monitor system performance post-implementation and ensure operational optimization
- Provide ongoing user support and assist in incident resolution
- Lead and participate in stakeholder meetings and status discussions
- Maintain all project documentation and support knowledge transfer
