The Procurement Manager will work with various teams across the organization to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. The chosen candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices in alignment with budget and department goals. Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality raw materials for our company. What will be your key responsibilities?
- Research, select, and purchase quality ingredients and materials
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best prices in alignment with budgetary goals
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
- Update inventory and ensure stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
- Monitor all inventory transactions across the operation, including inbound and outbound shipments, transfers between internal (i.e., Nom Nom) and external (i.e., 3rd party warehouse) locations, and stock adjustments (e.g., because of cycle counts or write-offs)
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
- Work with various teams across the organization to provide data and insights on purchasing trends and insights on reducing procurement costs
- Preferably 3-5 years of experience as a buyer in food manufacturing or distribution
- Proven track record of using market and commodity data to generate actionable insights on the company’s supply chain
- Proficient in the use of various technologies, such as Excel, Google Sheets, and procurement and inventory management systems
- Proven experience working cross-functionally to support various team initiatives
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
