IBM is currently seeking a Partner Technical Specialist (PTS-P) for IBM automation software. This role is responsible for driving US Ecosystem sales of IBM's software technologies for the US resell market.
As a partner-facing technical sales professional, you will become an essential part of the IBM strategy, driving partners to incorporate IBM technology into their reference architectures, practices, and solutions. You will lead the effort to increase partner’s technical expertise for demonstrating and deploying IBM Technology at scale through their sales and technical sellers, while laying a key role in growing the capability and capacity of the US IBM Partner Ecosystem.
You will also be expected to actively collaborate and work closely with the IBM US Ecosystem and Technology sales teams to ensure that the partner revenue objectives are met on a consistent basis.

As Partner Technical Specialist for the IBM automation software portfolio, you will:
- Develop a deep expertise on the IBM software products, as well as a broad-range vision on the overall IBM Technology.
- Own the technical relationship with partners and work to establish a reputation as a deeply trusted technology expert, and shape partner's technical agenda toward IBM's software offerings
- Facilitate pre-sales technical activities with US Ecosystem Partners.
- Lead delivery of partner joint-learning activities to build technical skills and expertise of partners to enable resell, service, and build motions
- Coordinate with IBM’s Customer Success Managers to drive post-sale technical adoption and deployment of IBM software technology through partners.
- Champion an entrepreneurial mindset and technical eminence to deliver unique value by leveraging industry, Brand, and portfolio expertise to drive innovations to accelerate partners’ success as a strategic technical advisor.
- Apply IBM brand strategies, methods, and models to ensure world-class design and delivery of partner solution offerings.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Experience in Software Pre-sales or Sales Engineering
- Ability to engage in face-to-face partner engagements when appropriate
- Eagerness to seek and build new skills
- This position requires technical knowledge as described, along with understanding the business value to partners. It requires capabilities to lead partners to drive sales success though technical competency
- This position will have an understanding and appreciation of: IT Automation principles, and demonstrated understanding of the underlying technologies
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent preferably in IT or any other technical field
- Project planning and leadership with the ability to effectively lead a complex technical project
- Ability to develop and define a successful PoC/PoT
- Understanding of IBM Verify and other IBM security products
- Solid understanding of Container Technologies (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Foundry, and others)
- Good understanding of Red Hat Technologies (i.e. Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible, RHEL)
- Ability to use architectural methods to develop solutions to address specific requirements
- Ability to leverage consultative Technical Selling techniques
- Strong Oral, Written Communication, and Presentation Skills including the ability to communicate with all levels, from developers through all C level Management (CxO)
