You will be the Optical Manufacturing Engineer for the Optical Components Center (OCC). Our team is responsible for fabricating high-precision optical components that enable mission-critical missile and fire-control systems.

As the Optical Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for guiding the OCC's production processes and advancing our optical manufacturing capabilities.

- Provide technical guidance and support to optical operators to ensure optimal performance in fabrication and metrology processes.
- Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce process variability, lower cost, and improve yield.
- Investigate root-cause of failures/defects and implement corrective actions that drive continuous improvement.
- Support non-recurring engineering (NRE) efforts, including manufacturing test plans, readiness reviews, and tooling design for new product integration.
- Review, plan, and insert capital equipment to ensure long-term stability of the optical center.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's with less than 2 years of experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design (CAD) and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience or basic training in at least one CAD software such as CREO, Solidworks, Siemens NX.
- Experience or basic training in at least one programming language such as Python, Matlab or Excel VBA for use in data analysis.
- This facility requires all candidates to be a US Citizen
- Experience in on the floor manufacturing environments dealing with working machinery and operator process training.
- Experience in optical manufacturing methods or metrology. Examples include grinding, polishing, ultraprecision diamond turning, interferometry, profilometry or CMMs.
