Work will be performed in a hybrid arrangement of remote, home-based and onsite in Washington, DC.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) provides executive and administrative support for the 93 United States Attorney’s Offices located throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Marianas Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U. S. Virgin Islands. Such support includes legal education, administrative oversight, technical support, and the creation of uniform policies, among other responsibilities.

Position Summary
The AvantGarde, LLC (AG) Senior Azure Engineer provides subject matter expertise to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) applications and infrastructure. Work will be performed in a hybrid arrangement of remote, home-based and onsite in Washington, DC.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and support for development and deployment of Azure OpenAI in a secure Azure Government environment.
- Connect Azure OpenAI to existing data sources on premises and in other cloud environments.
- Work with the requirements analyst and government product owners to suggest practical areas of AI experimentation.
- Collaborate with software development teams to integrate Azure OpenAI agents.
- Incorporate security management and privacy requirements.
- Support the documentation and implementation of necessary controls to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Document design, implementation, and operational details of the Azure OpenAI environment.
- A BS degree in computer science or related field.
- 5 years of experience in designing and developing cloud systems and applications.
- Demonstrated experience with Azure in a Government Cloud environment.
- Familiarity with generative AI and AI agents.
- Practical experience with integrating OpenAI is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation, with ability to work on an agile or waterfall-based team.
- Experience working in an agile work environment with ability to operate in a nimble, flexible way.
- Must be able to report to work in person 2 days per week. Standard availability required Monday–Friday with flexibility allowed during normal business hours (7 AM–6 PM).
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Able to pass a federal public trust investigation; active or recent federal security clearance preferred.
