Oracle AI Data Platform unites industry-leading foundational models with governed enterprise data to enable developers to rapidly and easily build their enterprise lakehouse.
The AI Data Platform team is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to build and operate scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support the AI Data Platform product, with a focus on data infrastructure development.
Responsibilities

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $68,500 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Job Description

The AI Data Platform team is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to build and operate scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support the AI Data Platform product, with a focus on data infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
- Help drive next-generation data engineering capabilities, with a focus on microservices, using Oracle standard tools, technology and development practices along with leading open-source frameworks
- Deliver high-quality software components as part of the AI Data Platform product
- Work with technical leads to ensure new capabilities are built with right design principles
- Work with remote and geographically distributed teams to operate complex cloud systems including participation in on-call rotation and related operational activities
- Ready to learn and jump into new areas and domains
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience implementing and operating cloud services
- Strong proficiency in Java and related technologies. C or Python experience is a plus.
- Cloud development experience on one of the major platforms (Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools for managing distributed systems
- Familiarity with DevOps automation and tools for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Prometheus).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Big data experience (highly desired):
- Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Hive, Hadoop or equivalent cloud data storage and data management technologies.
- Knowledge and experience with SQL querying, data processing, and database technologies.
- Familiarity with building data engineering pipelines at large scale.
- Familiarity with latest data formats, data processing engines and data cataloging technologies.
- Understanding of data engineering related tooling / infrastructure
