Pay Details: $45.00 per hour

Summary Of The Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Piping Drafting Designer to support general plant design across mechanical systems with a strong focus on piping. This role involves creating detailed layouts, piping assemblies, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for retrofitting and upgrading generating facilities. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant designs that meet operational and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design or assist in retrofitting upgrades for generating facilities, focusing on mechanical and piping systems (civil/structural knowledge is a plus).
- Perform project estimating , including field research and drawing interpretation.
- Prepare design packages with physical drawings, bill of materials, and engineering concepts.
- Document and maintain division design standards and procedures .
- Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, and external agencies regarding project specifics.
- Utilize Bentley Systems MicroStation CAD Software for design work.
- Conduct field checks to validate maps, design constraints, and scope.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings from field notes or sketches for review and finalization.
- Coordinate with project team members and possibly construction personnel.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in resolving installation-related questions.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation CAD Software (latest version) .
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and piping design .
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, civil, and structural drawings .
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel .
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
- Willingness to travel to generating sites as needed.
- Knowledge of civil/structural drawings and plant arrangements.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and field installation practices .
