Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/hr.

Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for creating HVAC system designs-including system narratives, drawings, and specifications-for a wide range of project types and sizes.
Responsibilities
- Develop HVAC designs, system narratives, drawings, and specifications for various project types.
- Certify HVAC system plans.
- Design heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning layouts using CAD software.
- Calculate heat gain/loss for residential and commercial applications.
- Collaborate with internal design, construction, and service teams.
- Conduct engineering qualification tests, including coordination with external agencies for compliance.
- Create working prototypes and test plans for compliance.
- Assist in preparing proposals for negotiated and design/build projects.
- Contribute to conceptual cost estimates for diverse HVAC systems.
- Participate in project interviews and present to external clients.
- Help establish HVAC basis of design for multiple project types.
- Participate in and oversee QA/QC activities for assigned work.
- Review and interpret architectural drawings and 3D models while performing necessary calculations.
- Assist in determining project schedules, manpower requirements, and budget planning.
- Support construction administration and perform field investigations.
- Assist with processing submittals, RFI's, change orders, bulletins, and record drawings.
- Support functional testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.
- Recommend product improvements or cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain consistent project standards with the Project Manager.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Basic understanding of HVAC system application and design
- Basic knowledge of LEED principles, especially as related to HVAC design
- Strong understanding of applicable building codes
- Experience reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings and 3D models
- Ability to perform engineering calculations to support design decisions
