Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and develop metallographic and microscopy inspection techniques in lab environment
- Interact and lead lab technician
- Identify and communicate to leadership schedule pressures and implement plans to mitigate the impact of those pressures on program deliverables.
- Participate in specific organizational initiatives.
- Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineer, material science or engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Having a learning mindset and willingness to ask for help when unsure
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cross functionally with other teams
- Experience working with industry specifications
- Test experience
- Experience with Process Development and Optimization.

- Experience with powder evaluations such as thermal analysis (TGA or DSC) or particle size distribution (PSD)
- Mechanical testing experience. Bend / adhesion testing
- Nondestructive evaluation experience. Examples: XRF, SEM, eddy current or THz
- Microscopy experience
- Ability to balance multiple projects at once and take accountability for your work
- Experience with metallography preparation (sectioning/mounting/polishing/etching)
- Experience with mechanical testing
