Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

Manages the Reimbursement Assurance Team at VUMC. Oversee the daily operations of the Reimbursement Assurance Team. This includes, but is not limited to, underpayments, overpayments/credits, vendor management, ability to interpret Managed Care Contracts, & understanding of XR/expected reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improves revenue cycle while enhancing service to patients and optimizing relationships with business partners and vendors.
  • Manage Reimbursement Insurance Team Staff and ensure staff adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Measures and reports ongoing financial and operational performance.
  • Identifies trends and implements preventive and/or recovery programs.
  • Audits accounts and implements or recommends appropriate action.
  • Receives and responds to special requests and resolves complex problems.

Technical Capabilities

  • Revenue Cycle (Advanced): Knowledge of the financial process to track patient care from registration and scheduling to the final payment of a balance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant work experience
