The Transcriptionist is directly responsible to the Laboratory Manager and Pathologists for producing work that is neat and accurate and meets the standards set forth for the manager and pathologists. The Transcriptionist is responsible for adhering to the format established for specific types of dictation and reporting poor quality dictation or problems with the equipment as soon as possible. S/he is also responsible for registering specimens for send out consultations, printing patient history, scanning laboratory images, and processing cytological specimens for interpretation by the pathologists and/or cytotechnologists.
Education, Work Experience And Licensure

Education, Work Experience And Licensure
- Associate Degree, Transcription Certificate and/or High School Diploma.
- Experience with medical transcription and medical terminology preferred.
