Job Description
The Lab Technician will be responsible for understanding and following Quality System documents such as the Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. The technician will adhere to quality measures that meet or exceed ISO/IEC, government regulatory (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements relevant to assigned duties. Additionally, the technician will comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and help maintain a clean and safe work environment. Proficiency in at least one core method and the ability to conduct another method with minimal supervision is required. The technician will operate basic lab equipment, prepare and weigh samples, and perform timely and accurate analysis using appropriate methods and techniques.
Responsibilities
The position is based in a large facility with approximately seven labs, specializing in nutritional testing for various industries. The environment is fast-paced, reflecting the production lab setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $20.30/hr.

Responsibilities
- Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities such as Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods.
- Adhere to quality measures to meet or exceed the standards set by ISO/IEC, government regulatory (cGMP, GLP), and company requirements.
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and ability to conduct another assigned method with no more than 25% supervision.
- Operate basic lab equipment within the department.
- Set up batches of samples to weigh and weigh samples accurately.
- Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples, including preparation, using appropriate methods and techniques, and applying appropriate data reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or other related scientific fields preferred.
- High School Diploma and previous lab experience required if no Bachelor's degree.
